TruthLens (“the Extension”) is designed with privacy as a core principle.
When you use the “Verify” feature:
The Extension requires the following permissions to function:
activeTab: To access the selected text on the current page when you trigger the verification.contextMenus: To add the “Verify with Sources” option to the right-click menu.storage: To store your Pro license key locally on your device. This key is never transmitted except to verify your Pro status with our server.host_permissions : To communicate with the cloud backend verification endpoint. We use Chrome’s local storage only to save your License Key (if you have purchased a Pro plan). This ensures you don’t need to re-enter it every time. We do not store any other personal data locally.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact the developer via the support link on the Chrome Web Store.
